Building a bundle a business actually buys
A business does not want to evaluate eight vendors. The partner who assembles three tools into one decision, with one commercial story, wins the deal the single-program partner never gets asked about.
Sell the decision, not the software
Your value in a bundle is that you have already done the comparison: what overlaps, what integrates, what a team at that stage should skip. A buyer paying for assembly is buying time, and will pay a partner who saves them a month of evaluation.
That is why curated and partner-led stacks both work. The buyer is not judging the individual programs, they are judging whether the combination solves the job.
Apply the three plus one rule
Three tools that solve the core job, plus one that removes the biggest objection. For an ecommerce stack that might be storefront, email, analytics, and a reviews tool. The fourth earns its place by answering the question that stalls the sale.
Anything beyond four is evaluation work you are handing back to the buyer. If a program cannot explain why it is in the stack in one sentence, cut it.
State the blended rate honestly
Add up the commission each included program actually pays on a realistic deal, then divide by the total deal value. A stack of 20%, 30% and 10% is not a 60% stack, and a buyer who spots inflation stops trusting the rest of your numbers.
Quote either a blended percentage or per-program figures, never the sum. Partners who state blended commission plainly are the ones buyers return to for the next stack.
Publish only what you would defend
A bundle goes live when you would put every included program in front of your own best client. Anything less becomes a support problem: you inherit the questions for a tool you would not recommend.
Start with one bundle aimed at one buyer type. Ten tailored stacks converted better than one enormous catalogue in every partner account we have seen.
- Three core tools plus one objection-remover.
- Blended commission stated, never summed.
- One buyer type per bundle, at one stage of growth.
TAKEAWAYS
- Bundles sell because they remove evaluation work.
- Three plus one: keep the stack small enough to decide on.
- Quote a blended rate, never the sum of percentages.
